iPhone 17 won't connect to plug-in CarPlay and wire headphones

Hello, i have been having issues with my new i phone 17 where it does not work with my plug in airplay. when i plug it in and try to connect it, it will always say no device connected. It will say it’s charging and everything so idk why devices never recognize my iphone. also when i try to use wire headphones it does not work. i have usbc wired headphones however when i plug them it they don’t work, they just play out of the i phone speakers. does anyone know what is wrong or why this is happening?
