Mojave Terms and Conditions Page Won't Let Me Agree

I recently updated my 2019 27-inch iMac to macOS Sequoia, not realizing that the antiquated hardware wouldn’t be able to handle the latest operating system. To make the device useable again, I booted into macOS Recovery mode to revert to Mojave. This worked flawlessly until I began setting up Mojave and reached the Terms and Conditions page. The “Agree” button is grayed out, and no matter how many times I scroll to the bottom of the text, the page won’t allow me to agree to the terms. I can’t proceed with the OS activation without it. Can you suggest a solution?

Click the Back button until you get to the AppleID/iCloud sign-in page & do not sign in. This has been a known issue for many years now. After that you should be able to agree with the Terms & Conditions.

The reasons you would have problems....

  • 8GB or less of memory
  • Worn out or failing Hard Drive or Fusion Drive
  • Issue with third party installed software

Otherwise Sequoia will run just as well as on any other Mac. My money is on the latter two reasons.
