How do I view the actual photo from my Home Screen widget in iOS 26?

Why before ios 26 when I tapped on the photo on my homescreen widget the actual photo came up but now just the photo app opens and I can’t find the actual photo? Can I fix this?

Use a Shortcut widget that opens a specific photo

You can create a Shortcut that opens:

A specific photo
A specific album
A recent photo
A favorite

Then put the Shortcut on your Home Screen as a tappable widget.

This does open the photo directly.
