Stop voice memos from saving in Messages on iPhone
How do I stop voice memos in my messages app from saving? I don't want that particular rather daily data to take up storage. I just got the iPhone 17, not sure if that matters.

Go to Settings → Messages → Audio Messages → Expire → After 2 Minutes
This automatically deletes voice messages shortly after listening
Optional: turn off Raise to Listen to avoid accidental recordings
Optional: enable iCloud Messages to reduce local storage use
