Adjust the Color Filter
In recent iOS versions, the default scan filter is often set to Color, which captures more detail but can sometimes make text look less sharp, particularly when the file is compressed for saving or sharing.
During Scanning:
Open Notes and start a new scan (tap the camera icon, then Scan Documents).
Once the camera opens, look for the Filters icon (three interlocking circles) at the top of the screen.
Tap it and change the filter from Color to Grayscale or Black & White.
Continue scanning. Grayscale often provides the best balance of clarity and reasonable file size for most text documents.
After Scanning (Editing an Existing Scan):
Tap the scanned document thumbnail in your note.
Tap the Filters icon (three interlocking circles) and choose Grayscale or Black & White.
Tap Done to save the changes.
