Unable to turn on app tracking on my iPhone despite being 18 years old

Hello, I’ve encountered an issue with app tracking, or rather tracking of apps. When I go into the Privacy & Security settings and click on the tracking button, it then tells me that I don’t meet the minimum age requirement and that I can’t enable app tracking, even though I’m already 18 years old.

Original Title: Tracking. App tracking.

I think Limnos hit on the correct answer, as posted above- the support article about app tracking (If an app asks to track your activity - Apple Support) notes that you have to be 18 by birth year. If this is the case, you'll have to wait the 25 days or so until the New Year.

Are you still under 18 "by birth year"? Not your actual birthday but by year.

Does the birthday of your Apple ID match your actual birthday? That is, does your Apple account reflect that you're 18 or older? Is your phone a managed device by another entity?

So you've been 18 half of this year. What I am thinking is if Apple is waiting until the year when you are 18 the entire year, that isn't until 2026. That's what I am interpreting "by birth year" to mean. They could do it the other way around and say that anybody born anytime during 2007 is 18 sometime during 2025, but then if somebody was born on Dec. 31, 2007 was eligible on Jan. 1, 2025 they would have been deemed eligible for almost an entire year when they actually were not. You were not eligible for half of this year and maybe Apple is just rounding it up to the next year. That's my thinking of it.
