When you set a Charge Limit, the phone will need to charge to 100% at times for calibration and will do that automatically as long as you do not manually remove it from charging. That is normal.
If you have Charge Limit set to less than 100 percent, your iPhone will occasionally charge to 100 percent to maintain accurate battery state-of-charge estimates.
