I feel a difference in smoothness between two iPhone 17 Pro devices. My dad’s iPhone 17 Pro seems smoother, even though mine is 512 GB and his is 256 GB. Is something like this possible? If so, what could be the reasons?

It's not possible to compare your phone to your dad's unless you happen to have exactly all the same apps on both phones.
A guess...and it is just that, a guess.....would be that you have more social apps on your phone that are more demanding in terms of performance, but we have no way to remotely"see" your phone....or your dad's from this user-to-user site.
If you want to pursue this further, you will need to make an appointment at the Apple Store / Genius Bar and take both phones in for comparison and testing.
Is this possible? After all, as I said, both are the same device. My storage space is larger than my dad’s device and I use it more. True, I have more social media apps and such, but would that really affect the performance noticeably? Or does using my device in dark mode affect performance? My dad uses it in light mode and with more zoomed-in settings.

I’m talking about screen smoothness similar to 120 Hz, and overall device fluidity.
