Music app: Cloud Music Library update fails with error 4010

I'm running OS 26.1, and the Music desktop I am consistently getting "The Cloud Music Library can't be updated right now. An unknown error occurred (4010)."

So, what is it, "unknown error", or a 4010?

Anyway, at some point the Sync Library checkbox unchecked itself, and when I try to turn it back on, the library will appear to sync for a while. It will progress from 25-80% and then stops with the error message.

Just to check if it's a network problem (which a 4010 sometimes might indicate), so I tried switching from my wi-fi to my phone hotspot, but I got the same error after the sync spins for a while.

I don't know if it's related, but on my phone Music app settings, I have Cloud Sync turned off -- this is by choice, but, I thought maybe I needed to have Sync activated on all devices in order for it to work on desktop, but, that wasn't the case, I still got the error. So I tried to turn Sync back off, and it actually refused to.

Not sure what is goin on with OS & iOS 26, but something is broken with Music cloud sync.

What can I do to fix the persistent "unknown / 4010" error?

Error 4010 on the Music app is almost never a network error. It's caused by a corrupted track, artwork file, or library database entry blocking Cloud Music Library from finishing. The fix is to refresh your Music app preferences, rebuild the library, or identify the bad item. Resetting the iCloud Music Library server state may help. Once the Mac completes a proper sync, your iPhone will stop blocking the Cloud Sync toggle.

Hello, I am having the same issue when I try to manually sync my library. Not sure what is going on because it has never done this before. I thought that it was a music file that I had added but that file plays good in Apple Music. I removed that file, tried to manually sync and nope, same error. I have a lot of music so no idea on how to find any file that is corrupted if that is the case here. The way that I got it to sync was to turn off sync in the settings and turn it back on. Once I did that, all synced. I tried to manually do it and same error. I have read somewhere that this only happens when you force the sync. I have since added other tracks to Apple Music that have synced. Somebody also mentioned here that "The fix is to refresh your Music app preferences". How do I do this or any other fix? Could this be something on the Apple side. I have heard that it could be that as well.
