Home sharing on Tahoe fails to play songs on Monterey MacBook

Hello,

I have upgraded to Tahoe my iMac that shares my music library connected to an external volume. Since then, I am unable to play any songs in the Apple Music app on my MacBook Air running Monterey. I can see the songs in the music app on the MacBook, but clicking play on a song puts the speaker icon next to the song below it, loads this into the display, but plays no sound. The time counter also does not advance.

Weirdly, I am able to import (cmd-O) songs from the iMac library to the MacBook in the music app, which play just fine.

The Apple TV app also is able to play on the MacBook videos from the iMac share.

iPads on the network are able to see and play songs from the iMac.

Has anyone else seen this problem? Does anyone have a suggested fix?
