Download only new photos without sync with iCloud Photos

Hello, actually I'm facing a problem about iCloud for Windows.

A friend has an iPhone (I don't remember the model but recent, 14 or 15) with iOS 18.7.2 and she uses iCloud for photos sync.

In that problem there're also 2 Windows PC that I name "Old" and "New".

My friend download, with "iCloud for Windows", all the Photos library, after that she makes changes to the download photos: add, delete, modify and the iPhone is not impacted by that, after all the operations there're the same photos. That's what happened in the "Old" PC (where I think there's an older version of iCloud for Windows, like 7.x.x). So, there's no sync and that's is also we would, just download automatically the iOS Library photos.

In the "New" PC there's no the same situation, I donwloaded the new "iCloud for Windows" from Microsoft App Store and in that case, modify the photos on the PC, cause modifications also on the iPhone. Yes, that's the "sync" behavior.. but in the "Old" PC there's not the same behavior, and for my friend would be better the "Old" PC's behavior.

I think could be also useful to have a choice possibility, I tried to check on iCloud Photos but there are no so much possibilities.

I hope that what I write is clear, do you have suggestion to replace the behavior of "Old" PC?
