Siri permission popup briefly appears but disappears instantly on iPhone 12 Pro Max

When I’m on the iOS 26 Home Screen and holding the lock button so Siri appears and telling it ”Navigate home using public transit”, some sort of permission popup appears on the screen. Being visible for only a millisecond, I don’t have time to read it or press any buttons on it. Then Siri just goes away. Is this a bug? I guess it’s asking me to give Siri some kind of permission but since it’s only visible for a millisecond I don’t have time to read it. Also, since it makes Siri go away she doesn’t help me. It seems like to permission popup and Siri cancels each other out? iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 26.1. I'm located in Sweden and my phone is set to Swedish.

Update: I solved it! I went to Privacy in iOS Settings, clicked on Location and scrolled down to Siri and gave Siri permission to always use my current exact location. That solved the problem and I can now ask Siri to give me direction via public transit home, and it'll automatically open the Maps app and start navigation.

I think this confirms that it's a software bug in iOS 26 that causes the location permission popup for Siri to disappear instantly by accident on iPhone 12 Pro Max.

I reported it as a bug to Apple via this form and I encourage everyone who's experiencing this to do the same (select "Bug Report" as Feedback Type): Feedback - iPhone - Apple

FilipOfficial ~ As your iPhone 12 Pro Max could be 5 years old, it's worth checking for a weak, aging battery (which can cause various unexpected behaviour.). So...

Does your iPhone 12 Pro Max still have its original battery?

And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging

Hello Alancito,

Thank you for your reply. My iPhone 12 Pro Max still has its original battery, I've never replaced it and always been very careful with the charging. It has 84% Max Capacity. I'm also not experiencing any other problems with it, and all questions except for prompts that requires Siri to know my location works.
