Cannot find Duplicates feature in Photos

I doesn't happen immediately. With two it might take a day, don't remember. Give it a day or so and check.

For a new library of 10K or more of photos it may take a week or more.

You might help it along by launching the library with the Option+Command keys held down to restore/repair the library. Then leave Photos open but in the background.

I did create a number of Duplicates to check this out - still no luck.

I do backup the Library of some 27,000 photos to iCloud.

Is there a trick to locating duplicates that I am missing?

Photos needs some time to scan your entire library first. I'd give it a few days.

The Duplicates album doesn't show up under Utilities until duplicates are detected. If you don't see the album you don't have duplicates that Photos have detected.

I just merged a pair of duplicates in the album and the album went away.

My wins are few and far between. I'll relish them whenever they occur.
