Apple Devices app disconnects iPhone during music sync

while trying to update or synch my music on my Iphone 16 Pro Max through the Apple devices app, it continually disconnects and I have to start over. Its a pain when im updating because it screws up my phone and I have to reinstall from last backup every time. But now I'm trying to synch my music back on and it keeps kicking out and the app shuts down and I have to start all over. Is it a problem with the app itself? I'm using a brand new cable directly to the computer to sych.
