How can I randomly pitch-shift individual snap samples in Logic Pro?

I'm taking Ryan Tedder's Studio.com class. In his first lesson, he gives a tip about randomly pitch shifting each individual snap to make them sound more realistic. I can't figure out how to accomplish this in logic. I tried pulling up Flex Pitch for the track my snaps are on but I can't get a note to appear. I tried "analyzing the audio for flex editing" but still no note appears. Does anyone know how to accomplish pitch shifting individual snaps on one track?
