Unable to update email accounts on my Mac

GOOD MORNING

recently my hard disk of a 2011 imac had crashed and i had no choice but to replace it with a new one after i replaced the hard disk, after replacing the hard disk and loading High sierra software, I was not able to add email ids to my Mail Accounts on the imac. There is also no support from Apple as the imac is 14 years old, can anyone tell me if there is a solution to this. As the screen is big 27 inches i dont want to replace it with a new one.

thanks in advanceemail

seem to recall one point accounts began to have some requirements that older mail apps could not meet

if I were you then I would try out some other email clients like say Thunderbird — Free Your Inbox. — Thunderbird

or others to see if they have a version which both support your older macOS version and the new requirements that

the mail providers began having.

otherwise you can access your mail providers webclient to read mails in your web browser
