Weird input levels monitoring in stereo tracks

I’m using Logic 11.2.2 - when recording to a stereo audio track in logic (i’ll use input 1-2 as the example) signals sent to input 1 show up as the left leg on the input monitor display but signals sent to 2 show up in both left and right legs. To recap - the issue noticed is that input 2 shows up in both 1-2 whereas inputs to channel 1 behave normally and only show up in channel 1. This is an issue I’ve noticed suddenly happen after installing 11.2.2 I have reset audio preferences and this did not solve the problem - maybe is this a known bug?

The issue is not limited to a certain pair of inputs - happens on any stereo input.

The issue is not interface related as signals sent to the interface show up only inputing to their correct channels.

last point- the issue is only a visual monitoring one as when the signal is recorded the playback is correct and input 1 playback in channel 1 and 2 plays back in channel 2.
