News widget showing irrelevant content

my news widget for today’s news shows news that doesn’t matter. I’m talking buzz feed articles about spinach and “here’s why you should get a tv antenna.” Prior to yesterday, it would show up with one article and would have something relevant to the day, i.e something happening in congress, a plane crash, etc. How can I fix this? It’s quite annoying.
