Problem Entering New Text on Hallmark Card Studio for Mac v23

I just upgraded to Hallmark Card Studio v23 on my iMac 24" all in one and can't get it to let me actually change or add text. When I try to add text, I see a bold "Add Text Here" but when I click there, all that happens is I hear a clicking sound for any letter I try to type. I had the Hallmark Card Studio for Mac v22 which currently has "14" listed below it. Does anyone know what I need to do in order to get the new v23 to really enable me to make changes or additions to text and graphics?
