FCP X is not showing any of the titles / generators / trackers from version 10.6

Hello there.

FCP X is not showing any of the titles / generators / trackers from version 10.6

I have FCP X 10.6.8 and Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6 on a Mac Pro from 2013... is it just a version / age / OS issue ?

Like every other video editors I was so longing for those tools to be built-in in FCP X, didn't even know there were there from version 10.6 and now I realise my FCP X doesn't have them... #SoFrustrating :-)

This happened to me. I think it’s something to do with using it on an external drive using the App Store option to install larger apps on an external drive.

I just reinstalled it to the internal drive and it’s showing all the transitions and titles now. Knock on wood!!!

I watched a bit of one of the videos you linked to.

The tracking feature is present in your version, but the specific title the author used is not one built-in to FCP.

He said himself it was one he downloaded from a website (envato).

You can however follow the tutorial, and apply the exact same principles, just using a different title or clip.

It all works as described.

Some stuff is M-chip only, won't show up on Intel Macs.

Can you post a link to one of those tutorials, so we can see exactly what you are talking about?

From what you are saying, it seems to me that you may be referring to some third party tools.

Thanks. I'm not talking about templates I have installed but the new cinematic functions from version 10.6 that I see in various tutorials, built-in tracking tools. They don't show up where the tutorials show them: in the left panel among the generators.

If I'm not mistaken they clearly refer to new built-in generators - including tracking tools - that should show up in my upper left panel among the titles and generators. I have none although my FCP X is 10.6.8 (later than this release) so I guess either my Mac Pro is too old, my Mac OS is too old or I'm an idiot and understood wrong ?

How did you install these templates?

Post a screenshot of Finder in Column View showing the full path to one of your installed effects (or transitions, or titles, or generators).
