Apple ID not working with new devices, despite resets

Purchased all new - computer, phone, watch, iPad. We cannot get our Apple ID to work, even when apple tells us we have successfully reset it. We have multiple ID's due to many years of new devices. How do we resolve this issue?

You don't really tell us what not working means so we're left kind of guessing what that means.

My thought is if you have already taken this to Apple and it still isn't working after they have helped you then it is something that can only be solved by Apple. Contact them again, or at least tell us what makes you think it isn't working. Error messages help.

The original email for our Apple ID - is an sbcglobal.net account. Apple shows our primary account as an iCloud account. When attempting to add that original email to the existing email accounts (primary is and iCloud account, others are gmail and one other), the error message tells me the sbcglobal.net account is unable to be added. Yet - on the iPhone device - the password message keeps coming up asking for the Apple ID information for the sbcglobal.net account. We try to enter it and it tells us it is incorrect - even though we were able to open the phone and get it going at the Apple Store yesterday.
