Bought 2017 CRV and the 'enable text/email' tab is gray. The 'show notifications' under the Bluetooth connection is not there.
Phone connection works--- so no issue there. And am able to use text receiving in our 2016 Honda Fit with my iPhone (have latest updates & IOS).
Have tried numerous time to get this tab highlighted (removing/adding phone to the CRV) but no go.
Is there a way to fix this (besides hooking up for car play)?

As per Apple's list --> iOS - CarPlay - Available Models - Apple.
The 2016 Honda Fit didn’t come with Apple CarPlay from the factory. If your car currently has CarPlay, it was most likely added later as an aftermarket head-unit or dealer-installed upgrade by you or a previous owner. It’s worth checking the stereo model or installation history to confirm whether the system is original or retrofitted.
