Songs not playing in Apple Music

Hello, I’ve been having an issue with Apple Music for several days now. When I try to play any song, nothing happens — the track doesn’t start, the progress bar doesn’t move, and there’s no sound at all. I tried playing one song, another, a third — nothing. I restarted my phone and my computer — no change. I restarted the app — still nothing. Music won’t play either on my phone or on my computer.


How can I fix this? My subscription is paid.

Check whether your internet connection signal shows you have a strong signal, or not.

If needed : check with your provider.


Check whether or not there's an Apple Music outage (a green dot means it's ok) :Apple - Support - System Status


Else: Wondering whether updating your iPhone or computer to the newest compatible version may help.

You can check for updates in Settings (or Systm Settings on a Mac) > General > Software updates.

Reminder: It is wise to back-up data before updating the OS version.

Keeping devices updated often side-steps issues.


Check you are signed in to your iPhone with the correct Apple Account you use for Music:

Sign in to your Apple Account on the web or in your device settings - Apple Support


Check you are signed in to the Apple Music app: Subscribe to Apple Music - Apple Support

Eg: says:

iPhone:

  1. Open the Apple Music app and tap Home.
  2. Tap the My Account button, your photo or initials.
  3. Sign in to your Apple Account.


Mac

  1. Open the Apple Music app.
  2. In the menu bar at the top of your screen, choose Account > Sign In.
  3. Sign in to your Apple Account.


PC

  1. Open the Apple Music app.
  2. At the bottom of the sidebar, click Sign In. 
  3. Sign in to your Apple Account.
