Podcasts app not syncing or downloading to Apple Watch

Yes I did. Seemed to help, but several podcasts still seem stuck on “waiting” in Watch app. I have also removed all shows from Watch, unfollowed podcasts, restarted both devices, refollowed podcasts, readded to Watch. Same behavior.

Yes. Both devices are connected to the same wifi network. Here is an added dimension to this problem: I normally download the default number of shows per podcast - 3. 3 of 8 podcasts, or 9 shows, are stuck on waiting. However, 3 of those 9 have actually downloaded onto the watch and I tested that they play when away from my phone. (it's a GPS only watch)

I did chat with support on this the other day and then was handed off to a senior advisor. When I described this to her she suggested that the problem may actually be with the phone not reading the synch/downloaded data properly. We left off on giving the shows more time to download to the watch, which she said after resets, etc. it could take up to 24 hours (although I don't buy that....)

After unpairing and repairing, the watch app shows "No Podcasts" at the top of the screen, even after I have added a few podcasts. So now there is no synching or downloading occurring whatsoever. Then I did a force restart again on my phone. This is the pits. I always ask Apple support whenever I have a problem: "Why did it work yesterday and it isnot working today?"

Update to this post: It must take a few minutes for the app to load and begin working. Downloading/synching has begun although they are still showing as "waiting" and it seems like its going to take a long time....

So maybe I just need to be a little more patient. The first show just completed downloading (3 episodes). I'm headed out for the evening so I will resume tomorrow morning and try to add one show at a time. Will update here tomorrow. Thanks again.
