Photos not appearing in the Trip section of Collections on iPhone

there are no photos in my trips section of collections. Location services are turned on, and the maps functions shows I have photos from around the country, but no photos show up in the collection. What can I do to force them to show up.

Generally the threads close after a time of inaction. Other than that, it doesn't seem to be connected to content. If it were, I'd have some special suggestions for the moderators.

I don't think this is a "bug." Trips isn't supposed to replace albums-- these collections like "Trips" or "Memories" are provided by Apple according whatever criteria that they've created. They tend to prefer pictures of people to landscapes, for instance, and so they might look different from what we would choose.. They are just little gifts to make us smile and, like most gifts, we get what we get, and if it's not what we really want then we say, "Thank you," and we don't have to look at it. I'm kind of surprised that I actually enjoy the "Featured Photos" that pop up on my screen--really, just a little gift that makes me smile, even though some of the pictures aren't the ones that I would choose.

I upgraded to iphone 16 pro last spring,Aprilish. I keep the OS up to date. I am currently at 26.1. I have a 1gb pipe, and I plug it in every night. I only have 3611 items in the library, and the status is synced. But when I look in collections > Trips, it says "No Trips Available > Trips will appear here when more photos and videos are added to the library, or synced with iCloud."

You don't say what OS you're running. Have you upgraded recently? It can take quite a while, like a week or more, for Photos to scan through all the pictures, record information in the database, and put together a collection. Doing this uses the battery, and since lots of people are very anxious about battery drain, the iPhone will avoid indexing when not plugged in. And since this uses processing power, and people hate slow-downs, the iPhone will avoid indexing while you use it. And since this requires bandwidth, the iPhone will avoid indexing when the internet connection is weak.

So, if you want faster syncing and indexing, then find good wifi, plug the phone in, and leave it alone. That should help.
