Log in 2 times with Tahoe

After I updated to mac os Tahoe V 26.1 when I start my computer I have to log into a Tahoe screen and then the computer reloads my normal sign in screen so now I have to log in twice how do I get it back so I only log in once

Disable Filevault in System Settings > Privacy & Security

This is what the Terminal Shows - FileVault master keychain appears to be installed.

iMac-2:~ johnkay$ 

In your case, I would expect to see:

FileVault is Off.
FileVault master keychain appears to be installed.
Encryption in progress: Percent completed = XX


The encryption progress may or may not be there (likely not with Apple Silicon or T2 chip), but it should state that it is Off or On. So, it appears something is confused.

Try disabling it with fdesetup:

sudo fdesetup disable
