Looking for help re Apple TV box benefits

I have recently switched over from Sky to Vodafone.

Amongst the numerous boxes that Vodafone sent me (Router, Booster, Connect Module etc) there is also an Apple TV 4K box, which I wasn't expecting and can find no information about.

At the moment I also have a Roku TV stick, which has on it all the apps we use, including Apple TV.

Do I need to plug in the Apple TV box? What are the benefits of using it? Does it have live TV on it?

I should add that at the moment we still have the old sky box, which, I think due to being connected by cable, allows us to watch terrestrial channels and a whole lot of other channels too, oddly.

the appletv box is sort of like an ipad that use your tv as display and a remote to navigate, connecting it to a tv sort sort of like a replacement for your roku

it has an app store where one can get games and streaming apps

and it has build in support for appletv+ and apple music and such

unless your subscription with voda do not include apple music or the likes and you do not wish to use the box for apps not on your roku then you have no use for the box

There are some similarities between the Roku stick and the Apple TV box. Depending on the model stick, the Apple TV box may be a significant upgrade. The Apple TV box has its own App Store, so there will be a few differences in app availabilities, if you want some of the less popular apps.

The Apple TV box has a powerful A15 chip, like iPhone 14, so pretty fast and snappy to launch and run apps.
