Customizable Collaborator Highlight Colors in Notes

This is an accessibility-focused feature request for the Notes app.

In shared Notes, each collaborator is assigned an automatic highlight color, but these colors cannot be customized. This creates accessibility challenges for users with:

– ADHD and sensory-processing issues

– Autism

– Dyslexia

– Color blindness

– Low vision or contrast sensitivity

Customizable collaborator colors (and optional color-coded text) would:

– Improve readability

– Reduce visual confusion

– Support neurodivergent users

– Enhance contrast and text tracking

– Make multi-person Notes far more accessible

Requested accessibility improvements:

Let each collaborator select their own highlight color

Allow the note owner to assign colors manually

Optional: color-coded text for each contributor

Consider an “Accessibility Contrast Mode” for clearer visibility

This change would be simple to implement and would significantly improve accessibility for many users who rely on Notes for school, work, and shared household organization.
