How do I permanently delete a ghost me.com account that still receives spam?

apple states that my me.com account has been deleted long ago - but it remains capable of receiving mail and send it to me. How can this ghost be deleted? I am tired of spam sent to this old me.com account

Consult with Apple about this. Unless you can delete the account yourself as per How to delete your Apple Account - Apple Support Apple is the only one who can deal with this. I know from other user posts on this forum that those old .me accounts can be a nuisance. Refer to this page for Apple Support for different countries ➔

Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support

Select your country (if you do not see your country, also look for "other" in regions; e.g., "Other Africa"), then "Choose a product". Click the "show" item under each category for more selections. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

Thank you for this prompt reply. I already had spoken with Apple (and I have AppleCare+). In fact I spoke with two agents over the phone and one over chat. The one over chat was confused and it was probably my inability to explain. The second on the phone told me that my me.com account had already been deleted and that spam was not an Apple issue. The third was quite helpful and when I told her that I don't get mail on iCloud.com, she suggested that I turn this off (on my iPhone, we could not figure it out under Tahoe). This made sense - but it did not work.


Let me summarize: the Apple staff member see that my me.com come has been deleted years ago and they told me that they CANNOT help me. Thanks again.
