Since the latest update Compressor doesn't render alpha 4444 image sequences.
How do I revert to an older version.
Allready tried all the suggestions to reboot and fix it but to no avail.
Mac Studio, macOS 15.6
Just tested with 14.11.1 and it works great for me.
Took a 10 second Motion project with a white box moving and resizing, exported as PNG image sequence.
In Compressor applied the "QuickTime ProRes with Alpha" preset.
Resulting .mov works as expected in FCP.
Can you tell us exactly what you're doing in Compressor?
Did you run the Repair function inside Compressor?
Which version of Compressor? 4.11?
Which version of macOS? Sequoia 15.6? Tahoe 26.1? What?
Where does the material in question come from? FCP? Somewhere else?
Are you sure the source material does have transparency?
Would it be possible to share a sample source file so we can test?
Well I haven't change anything in my workflow.
Open Compressor.
Open IMG sequence.
Choose Prores with alpha Codec.
Render and...fails.
Wait...I just tried with an older folder of PNG's and it works.
I will test something out...report soon.

It is a folder with PNG's inside. Yes they have transparency.
Here are 1 of them. You can duplicate it 24 times. It will be static but should be transparent.
Worked fine before update ! My fault for not saving my older version Compressor !!!
I need the alpha and it just won't export. 3x can not encode error.

Problem is related to one specific folder. So it looks like Compressor is fine.

I also just tried importing into FC.
I can export the image sequence with the alpha. Sort of a...not useful workaround.
It not quick.
So the alpha codec works inside FC but not with compressor.
