Adding Digital ID to Wallet on Apple Watch

Finally succeeded. Possible paths to success:

1. Removed the Digital ID from one Apple Watch (S8).
2. Tried adding to my "primary" Watch (S9). Failed a few times.
3. Restarted the phone.
4. Tried adding and began the Live Photo verification process.
5. 
6. Kept the iPhone unlocked and awake for 5-8 minutes.
7. 
8. Within 5 minutes, received a notification on the Watch that Verification was complete.
9. 
10. Had to unlock the Watch by ending the Passcode.
11. 🎉

Or:

1. I was able to successfully add the Digital ID to an Apple Watch on a national holiday.

Well, now it's been going through the Verification Process on my S8 SS GPS+Cellular Watch. Over, and over, and over again. Repeatedly prompting me for "Verification required" 15-20 minutes after "Verification in progress." Sigh. Guess the huge demand is overwhelming servers.

Thank you. The question was rhetorical, not literally asking the corporation.

I have all my credit cards (well, most of them) added to my Watch. It's an enormous convenience when paying for small items.

This question is specifically related to the new Digital ID. 💡

As I said, I was prompted once out of a couple dozen attempts to use a Live Photo to add to the Watch, but it ended unsuccessfully. To date, all other attempts failed in the Watch app, Wallet settings. This error repeats whether I'm on my home Wi-fi (270mbps down, 30mbps up), and 5G cellular service.

Still unable to do this. What's wrong, Apple?
