How did Apple Pay allow a scammer to charge my card without verification?

EpicVIN charged me for a subscription renewal (which I didn't sign up for, but simply purchased for $1) using Apple Pay without verifying the purchase (using my Face ID or the side buttons). My card wasn't linked to the website. How could such a transaction have gone through Apple Pay? EpicVIN is a scammer who refuses to refund my money, even though I didn't use the subscription and canceled it within an hour of the charge. I want my money back. But these scammers refused. Now I want justice and to find out how Apple Pay could have debited me like that.

The contract you agreed (subscription) explained exactly what would occur. Whether you used the item or not is irrelevant. You signed a contract and sent them $1.

Apple doesn’t verify charges and neither does Google Pay, Samsung Pay etc. Verification is done by the merchant and the bank connected to the account you used to fund the transaction (payment).

Contact the merchant (EpicVIN) and cancel the subscription and request a refund. If the merchant refuses or you can’t contact them dispute the charges with your bank.

When you made your $1 purchase you also signed up for an unlimited package as indicated on the website. You were not scammed, you didn’t cancel the ongoing subscription. If you have issues, contact the company and then your card issuer.

I immediately cancelled my subscription after the money was debited! And I never used it! How could they charge me through Apple Pay without my approval? I contacted the company and they refused me, although I certainly didn’t use their subscription and didn’t plan to.
