Apple Fitness app: 5K award issue after indoor walk

When using the apple fitness app (indoor run), the 5k run is awarded. But if I record an indoor walk (warm up) before recording my 5k indoor run it is not.

Is this normal or a bug in the app?

There is no bug in the Fitness App.

The Apple Fitness app currently does not award the 5K achievement if your workout is split into multiple sessions (e.g., an indoor walk followed by an indoor run). The award only triggers when the app detects a continuous 5K run workout
