How to remove white border around text in TextEdit on macOS 15 and set as default?

How do I remove white border around my text in TextEdit with Mac OS15?

And how to set a default so new files don’t open with the border?

Luis Sequeira1:

I found that “wrap text to page”, in the format menu looks like:

and that “wrap text to window”, in the format menu looks like:

In the first image, the text stays inside of the box that the blue cursor is in. In the second image, the text goes right out to the edges of the window.

Thanks for your response.

I tried to remove this post or edit to say I had solved the problem, but the removal/edit wouldn’t take last night.

Anyway, the white border I referred to was the “wrap to window”, and “wrap to page” settings.

Before this new computer, I had never seen the border around the active test field in TextEdit.

Thanks for checking with me.
