Apple TV+ subscription not recognized in Apple TV app

I have a new Amazon FireTV stick, it has logged me out of my Apple+ TV account. When I log back in, my subscription is not there - Apple+ TV is asking me to subscribe. I already have a subscription - I am paying monthly and until I switched FireStick, I was watching programming. How do I get my subscription to show in my account?

Please verify that you signed in on the correct account, to which the subscription is linked.

Did you originally sign up through Amazon Fire TV, or did you sign up through Apple. Those options may not be interchangeable, as that could be on different accounts (Amazon account vs. Apple Account).
