How to reinstall Canon printer driver after macOS update?

I updated macOS to 15.7.2 and now my Canon printer driver is gone. I downloaded the driver from canon (or at least i thought I downloaded the driver) but I cannot it. It's an older printer and I have it connected via USB and not wifi. The printer is as TS300 model. Any ideas how I get my printer back online?

Steps I've taken: downloaded the driver .dmg package and ran the canon_ij setup. I did not re-register my printer since it was registered before and shows up under my canon account. Trying to add a printer shows the canon printer available but I cannot find the folder with the driver.
