Live text ios 26 Splotchy

On iOS 26.1 using an iPad Pro I can’t get the Live Text to work anymore. Live Text is ‘on’ in settings. Language is “English”. I have restarted my phone. Internet connection is good. Have tried in several apps with same results: the highlighting of the text is splotchy. I’ve tried selecting just some of the text but it won’t copy. I’ve tried selecting all and won’t copy what’s on the screen. Please see an example of this in attached screenshot. Thanks for any help.
