Trying play movie I downloaded on phone
Movie is telling me that it can’t play on the Apple AV adapter and I have to download some other version.
what gives?

I have a new iPhone 16 pro with iOS 26.1. I downloaded a movie at home in Apple TV + app to play while traveling. When I played the movie it says it is not compatible with the Apple AV USB-C to HDMI adapter and gave me a choice to download a compatible version or live stream. I do not have WiFi in our trailer so I want to download the compatible version so I can play it without WiFi or cell service. Most RV parks don’t want visitors streaming so that is not an option. I looked at my settings for Apple TV on my phone and the “downloads for AV adapter” toggle is on. My other preferences are set for faster downloads. My issue is I only get the option to download a compatible version for the av adapter when the phone is connected to the tv when I have no WiFi. How do I download a compatible version when I have WiFi
available but not connected to a tv using the av adapter?
Incidently, I have none of these problems at home using the exact same device and equipment.
