Tahoe 26.1 Update Display, Peripheral and Search Issues Persist

The last two Tahoe Updates have been a nightmare. Quickbooks won't display characters in the app. My search capabilities, which used to be incredible, show no results. My perpherals don't connect when booting so I have to open my lap top to log in on the built in keyboard. Outlook has become unstable and the cursor jumps all over the page while typing. Strange shaded boxes pop up in random spots on the screen for no reason. This update persists in confounding my work flow. I've read the Q&A and see similar issues. Tried all the remedies with no luck. It's been about 3 weeks with no relief. Open to suggestions.

before doing anything else, be certain you COMPLETELY remove CleanMyMac.

Install and Un-Install

the fundamental principles:

• anything installed with drag-and-drop to the /Applications folder can be un-installed by Drag-and-drop to the Trash. After a restart, the Trash can be emptied.

• anything installed with a complex installer program requires the manufacturer's un-installer program. sometimes this is included as an "option" in the Installer package, but the software-maker's web site should specify how to un-install (if they don't, they get swamped with users clamoring for Un-install Instructions).

DO NOT use any other web site’s instructions, unless you have complete trust in that specific site to tell you the truth.

Third-party un-installers could be malicious. The Classic case is malicious updaters for Flash Player.

• anything claiming to be an 'uninstaller helper' is just JUNK. (worse than web site click-bait)

Next, Consider downloading and running this little "discovery" utility, Etrecheck. It changes NOTHING. Etrecheck was developed by a senior contributor here, and uses mostly system calls and simple tests to collect often-needed information.

it contains little tests for speeds of devices, CPU utilization, memory usage, energy usage and a digest of recent problems, in one easy to use package. it does not even need to be Installed. Because less can be learned when your Mac is running great, best time to run is when your problems are actually occurring, if possible.

if you follow the directions faithfully, its report (pre-laundered of all personally-identifiable information) can be "Shared" to the System ClipBoard, then Pasted into an ‘Additional Text’ window in a reply on the forums.

Use Etrecheck Pro for free:

http://Etrecheck.com

The amount of data you get can be daunting. If you POST your report, some Readers here are willing to look over those reports, and can provide valuable insights.

Then start reply on the forums, click the "additional text" icon, and PASTE

I was not. But when I started having issues with the upgrade I installed Clean My Mac. It didn't make a difference one way or the other. I still had the same system problems as before I installed it. It didn't remedy anything or make it worse. Aside from the search problem, Outlook and Quickbooks are giving me the biggest issues. The two applications I use the most, of course.
