Apple account linked to old email address

My apple ID is linked to an old email address and won't change to the new address on my iPhone or MacBook. I can sign in using the new email address but still displays the old address and won't link my Apple Card to my Phone.

Your Apple Card is permanently and forever tied to the Apple Account (formerly known as Apple ID) that you used when you accepted the offer for credit from Goldman Sachs Bank. It’s impossible to assign the card to a new (different) Apple Account.

The solution is to recover the old account and once recovered, use the recovered (old) account to log into on your iPhone.

For some personal reason I got a new Apple ID to replace the old one that has been active for more than I remember. Went through many hurdles setting up new iPhone even with multiple visits to brick-n-mortar Apple Store, a couple of phone support with Apple, ....

Right now, I cannot get my Apple Card back through Apple Wallet although I am able to install a couple of credit cards on Wallet. Have some serious money on Apple Savings and wish to review it now & then. Can you help? Do I need to get on Goldman Sachs support line?
