why is my apple tv 4K displaying in the top left hand corner

Two days ago my Apple TV 4K started to display only in the top left corner. The first morning this happened I didn’t have time to trouble shoot. When I arrived home that night and turned it on the full screen display was back. Then this morning it was back to the top left corner. The Sony Android TV displays all other content full screen with no issues. I have tested the HDMI cable via the Apple TV settings as well as physically testing the connection with another Belkin 4k HDMI cable. I’ve restarted, checked compatibility formats and pulled the power supply out as well.
