are Apple Mail passwords stored in Sequoia

My iMac's mail works perfectly but my wife's MacBook will not connect to Apple Mail. I have searched and searched for the password but have about given up.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.6

I can't find Keychain anywhere and I've looked in all of the usual places. It seems to have disappeared from Sequoia. This should not be so difficult. All I want to do is synch

up all of our devices.
