Apple TV menu freezing when opening apps but can open with Siri

My Apple TV 4K just started freezing whenever I click on any app in the menu, whether I use the remote or the remote app. I can't scroll, it just freezes on the menu with that app selected.

While it's frozen, I can still use Siri to open the apps successfully. I can also press Menu twice and flick through to an already open app and open it that way.

This happened on 26.0.1 today and when I updated to 26.1, it continues to happen. I've restarted it and it didn't fix the problem. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it didn't fix the problem.

Has anyone seen this before? Is there anything I can try before a full reset?

Nothing else seemed to work, but a full factory reset seems to have fixed it

My Siri Remote has been freezing since the last update and didn’t work after today’s update was installed. I haven’t used the Remote App to test that. I just tried troubleshooting the remote and for now it’s improved. See: If your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote isn't working - Apple Support

If you still have issues you might consider taking it to an Apple Store but I would attempt a factory Reset first before taking it in.

This morning, I woke up to find that my UI freezes whenever I open any app. While I can still use the remote and open apps through Siri, I’m puzzled about what’s causing this issue.
