Apple TV remote increase volume by 24 points at a time

Tried every suggestion in this chat. Holding tv icon and vol down. Tv icon and back arrow, updated software, factory reset. Nothing is working. Used to control volume properly then all of a sudden started happening. Pls help if you can.
