Ipad Auto lock for more than 15mins, is that possible?

Currently my Ipad Auto-lock (within Screen & Brightness) shows a maximum time of 15mins. I would like an autolock time of 1 or 2 hours. Is that possible?

The rationale for it is as follows:

  • I don't want the screen to lock when I am reading an article or book
  • But I also don't want the iPad to run down to 0% battery if by mistake it gets switched ON while inside my bag. I turned of the Tap-wake feature to help avoid this, however it still gets switched on sometimes and the iPad battery goes down to 0% or close to it.

Many thanks!!

Auto-lock - a security feature - currently has a maximum 15-minute duration.

If your iPad supports FaceID (i.e. is an iPad Pro), you can configure the Attention Aware feature. This feature actively monitors your attention using the FaceID sensor; while you are reading or otherwise "paying attention" to the iPad's screen, the iPad will not Auto-Lock. When you stop paying attention, the Auto-Lock timer will start - and upon expiry, the iPad will lock. If attention is detected during the timeout period, the timer resets.

Settings > FaceID & Passcode > [Attention]

If you would like Apple to consider offering additional Auto-Lock timer options, you might consider submitting a feature request via Apple's Product Feedback portal. For iPad and iPadOS:
