AirPods won't connect to iPhone 17 Pro Max but work with other devices

my airpods wont connect to my iphone 17 pro max. They connect to my iPad 10 and an iPhone 13 but even after resetting the AirPods, removing the device, and resetting the phone; it still won’t work
