I keep getting no internet connection anytime I want to add my Google account to my iPhone to retrieve my contacts. Whereas my internet works just fine.

Your internet is fine — the Google login page is being blocked by Safari or network settings inside iOS. Fixes include turning off Private Relay, VPNs, ad blockers, enabling JavaScript and cookies, clearing Safari data, adjusting date/time, and resetting network settings. If needed, you can add Google Contacts manually using CardDAV without the Google login popup.
