Downloading word processing apps on an iPhone with iOS 15.8

I have an iPhone S I know that it's an antique but I can't afford it but I want to download a word processing app to it and every time I try down from App Store said you have to have I was 18 or iOS 17 how do I get a word processing app that works wi. So I’ve gone to my App Store and I’ve tried to download several word processing apps and I’ll tell me you have to have iOS 16 and or 17 or18 and I have iOS 15.8 whatever the numbers are the farthest at the S will update you how do I download an app for we’re processing to this phone

It is the Developer of the apps that choose what iOS version they want to support. You will only be able to download apps from developers who support iOS 15. For some, it does not make sense for them to spend resources on app development for an ever shrinking number of users on that version, and others want to make their apps available to the largest number of potential users possible. It is just a matter of if you will be able to find a developer who supports your OS with an app you want.


A simple search of the App Store does shows a few word processing apps that would run on your device. I see one called TextMaker, yet I have never used it so don't take that as a recommendations, but there are others as well. Just not as many that support the latest iOS versions to take advantage of the new features found on those devices to make their apps more compelling.
