Bluetooth not working on Macbook Air M1

I have an M1 2020 Macbook Air and never really had any issues with it, or with the bluetooth. I just got new wireless headphones cause my Beats casing crack (oops). The beats were seamless between devices and work so well with the mac, though i know thats part of the design. My new ones though, cant pair.

I dont think its the headphones - they have paired fine with phone and ipad. I think it's the mac and the bluetooth. Basically, it isnt finding new devices (and doesnt look like its looking?), i dont have an option to disable bluetooth at all (the button is there but doesnt work / is sort of faded out), and i have four devices showing in the list but can't remove them, there's no option for that at all.

I have tried the terminal and spotlight things you can do which reset your bluetooth, didnt seem to have any effect. And i was on an older OS, but updated to Tahoe last night and tried it all again with no joy.

Any advice?

-- looking at the pics, realising bluetooth is maybe off not on, which def makes it a problem, but i still cant turn it on! So same question :)

Also realising that it says its configured by a profile but i cant see that anywhere, so if anyone has any shouts on that please lmk!

Please look in Settings>General>Device Management and verify that.

Do you have a work or school email account set up on it at all? If so, the administrators have the ability to enforce profiles on the device.

I had tried removing the plist from library and restart with no joy, i also tried a terminal command that hadnt worked. Have kept googling and came across this terminal command:

sudo rm -rf /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Bluetooth

and that one, after another restart, seems to have done the job! Would recommend trying this one (and probably also deleting the bluetooth plist from library) to anyone having similar issues!!
