Possible to share entire iMovie Library on a NAS so family can view it like with iMovie?

Hello

I have collected 1TB of thousands of video clips of my family over the past 20 years. They are acutally stored on a local drive of an iMac and can be viewed there. The clips are browsed with iMovie by selecting the year and then the event name so all clips of the event are played one after the other.

Now the kids are grown and are leaving. Therefore, I would like to setup a NAS and share that whole iMovie library for them to view with their smartphones or computers. I know how to export single iMovie projects and share them on a NAS, but I am wondering if there is a way to install an entire iMovie library on a NAS so it can be browsed like with iMovie. An important element would be that once a certain event is selected, all the clips within would automatically stream one after the other.

Thanks in advance for any help

iMovie libraries can’t be shared, even to another user on the same mac. The only way would be to move all the clips to iCloud (get a plan to support that much, the 2TB is just $9.99 USD a month) and maybe set up a AppleScript or automator app to do what you wanted. Then you can just share the folder with the videos, share the apple script or automator app and done.
